SAMPLE
ITINERARY
Saturday
11AM
- Clients begin arriving
in St. Anton. Your host will meet you at the train station and take you to
your apartment. Relax, unpack, take a nap or walk through the
pedestrian-only town and have an après ski drink.
8PM
-
Go out for a casual group dinner to meet your ski mates for the week, drink your
first (but not last) Flügel and get a brief orientation about the week’s
activities.
Sunday
8AM
– After enjoying the fresh bread
delivered daily and drinking 3-4 junior cups of strong European coffee, jump on the ski bus
for the 5 minute ride to town.
9AM
– Ride
the
tram to Galzig Ski Shop to rent test/demo skis, taste Patrick’s homemade
Bergwasser (a ritual you cannot refuse) and meet your mountain guides.
10AM
–
Head out on the mountain and become familiar with the endless skiing
possibilities in St. Anton
6PM
– Take gondola up early for two
+1000M sledding runs before going to a mountain hut for dinner - make sure to
order the specialty, Schweinhaxe (pig leg).
Post dinner, get ready for a wild sledding ride down the hill on a Rödel (traditional
wooden sled) and then
head to the bars or head home for sleep before your last day on the slopes.
Monday
9AM
–
Meet your guide at Galzig for a day of skiing groomed runs or off-piste in the
backcountry.
If you want powder, our guides will find it.
12noon
–
Enjoy the best mountain lunch of your life in one of the many interconnected
villages in the Arlberg region.
3:30PM
– Experience après ski at the world famous Mooserwirt.
You haven’t done après ski until have done it in St. Anton.
8PM
–
Take the rest of the night off and cook in one of the apartments or go out on
your own for a traditional Austrian meal in St. Anton.
Tuesday
8AM
-
Get an early start to take a ski tour towards Lech / Zurs area where you will
have lunch and watch people in $3000 ski suits that are not made for skiing.
7PM
–
Pick up snowshoes and hike to the nearby town of St. Jacob for a specially
prepared meal at our friend Otmar’s restaurant.
Flügel Happy Hour (really, there is one) starts at 11pm and bars stay
open long after you should be home in bed.
Wednesday
9AM
– It has just snowed and you are now in the skiing groove. All the new powder
tips from our professional guides are paying off.
Meet your guide at Galzig and head with your group into the lift-accessed
backcountry to ski undisturbed powder.
4PM
–
Time to go for après ski because what else do you do after such an epic day
8PM
–
We walk to a famous local hotel for cheese & meat fondue and excellent wine.
Thursday
9AM
–
Meet your guide for a new ski adventure and savor another leisurely lunch
6PM
– Leave for a group dinner at a mountain hut where you will eat meat cooked on
a hot stone and choose from a first class wine selection. After dinner, sled down on a saucer or Rödel to an awaiting
taxi for a night out.
Friday
3PM
–
Start early and go big for après ski at Mooserwirt.
If you are still out drinking in your ski boots at 10PM, tell everyone
you are Dutch and people will understand.
8PM
–
Food is available at the apartments or you can go out to eat on your own.
Saturday
11AM
–
Check out.
Bag storage is possible if you stay through the afternoon to shop for
everything you didn’t have time to buy earlier in the week and to soak in the
fine St. Anton sun and air before leaving for home.
